Open to kids ages 6 to 14 of all abilities\, this special one-mile journey kicks off at the historic Boise Train Depot\, culminating in a festive Finish Fair at Cecil D. Andrus Park by the State Capitol.  Every participant is a winner\, receiving a commemorative medal and a stylish T-shirt.\n\n\n\nFor 40 years\, the Treasure Valley Family YMCA and Saint Alphonsus have joined forces to sponsor this beloved run. Aligned in our commitment to community health\, especially the well-being of our youth\, our collaboration promises a fantastic and memorable experience for all participants. Let’s make this 40th-anniversary celebration one for the books as we stride together towards a healthier\, happier community! \n\n\nRace Contact Info\n\n\nIf you have any questions about this race\, email: racedirector@ymcatvidaho.org \n\n\n\n\n\n\nPacket Pick-Up…Don’t Miss it!\n\nPacket Pick will be held at Big Al’s in Meridian on Thursday\, May 30th from noon-7 pm.  Please remember that this is the only option to pick up your race packet. Join us at Big Al’s to collect your bib number\, and your child’s t-shirt and designate a colored flag to meet your child in the Finish Line area. \nThere is no race day registration or packet pick-up available.  \n\n\n\n\n\nRace Start & Drop Off Area\n\nAll racers must be at the Boise Depot between 9-9:30 am on Saturday\, June 3. The drop-off lane at Eastover Terraces closes at 9:30 am. There is no registration or packet pick-up on race day.  You can get back down to the Capitol and Cecil D Andrus Park via Crescent Rim/Latah/Americana or Crescent Rim/Peasley/Rose Hill/Visit/Capitol Blvd. (please note – this route will be CLOSED after 9:40 am\, as the police will close northbound traffic at University Drive). \nRace Drop at the Boise Depot: Drop off is just that\, drop off. Drivers need to stay in their vehicles and allow the Race Volunteers to escort their racers from the car to the proper starting area. Please do not get out of your vehicle. \nTip: Take your pre-race pictures at home! \nRace Bib: Bib numbers need to be pinned to the front of the body on the outermost layer of clothing. Do not exchange bib numbers among siblings or friends\, each child’s name\, emergency contact\, and color of flag where the child is meeting their family will be on the back of the bib to help with confusion. \nThis race is a chip-timed event\, on the back of the bib is a timing chip. Please do not bind or remove the timing chip.  \nShortened/Adaptive Race Course:  \nThe Capitol Classic encourages kids with all abilities to participate. There is an adaptive course for kids with physical or mental disabilities that starts at 9:30 prior to the main race. This race will start at the corner of Capitol and Idaho. For questions on adaptive course\, please contact Kate Mason at 208-367-4250 \n\n\n\n\n\nParking\n\nAt the START\, parking access for adaptive participants and volunteers is from Ruby Street. \nAt the FINISH\, there is parking in the downtown area near the Capitol Building and Cecil D Andrus Park. Remember to push the meter for your free 20 minutes\, meters are running on weekends in the downtown area. \nCheck out this link for the Park Mobile App\, maps of meter spots\, and parking garages in the area. City of Boise Parking Info>> \n\n\n\n\n\nFinish Line\n\nThe Finish Line Celebration will be in Cecil D Andrus Park. All children will receive a medal in the finish line area and be ushered into the park to reconnect with their families. There will be water and a healthy snack for all finishers. Then you can visit booths to learn about our Race Sponsors and fun summer activities. \nHow do I find my child? What happens at the end of the Race?\nGiant colored flags in red\, blue\, green\, and pink will be at the Finish Celebration for all to see. We recommend that you choose a color with your child and designate that color of the flag for your meeting place. \nWe ask that parents and guardians stay off the race course and do not enter the finish line area. Please remember the finish line is exciting\, be patient while you wait for your child to make it to your designated meeting spot. \nTip: We will have markers at packet pick up so you can mark the color on the back of your child’s bib with that color (a little reminder for them\, in case they forget).

Coaches for CTC particularly encourage and teach children and youth to enjoy physical fitness through running and field events at an early age. \nRun a Solo 4K\, or with a Team\n4K Solo Runners and Walkers participate as individuals. \n4K Team members consist of 4 team members tethered together for the first 2K; the entire team drops the tether cord at 2K\, and each team member runs the final 2K independently. Team Score by places compare with other teams for Team Placings. All four team members score in this event to complete the placings. \nBoise Striders made this a very enjoyable event for 35 years. Canyon Track Club intends to keep that spirit alive! Run or Walk as a team with your buddies; with your gal pals; as a family; with three other people you just met. Or you can come and run in your pajamas if you like! \nTurkey Trot 4K Course\nFor the record\, 4 Kilometers is almost exactly 2.49 Miles! The course is mostly soft surface on grass. \nThe START LINE is located behind the press box side of the stadium on a grass surface. The course runs a perimeter around the most of the athletic complex and through the outfield area of the softball fields. From there the course winds its way onto the Track\, taking participants up to the 2K mark\, where teams drop the tether. Complete the second lap\, and finish on the FINISH LINE on the Track. \nPacket Pickup\nPacket Pickup is available 8:15AM on the morning of the Run/Walk within meters of the start line. \nRace Run/Walk starts at 9:00AM. \nAbout our Fundraising Efforts\nProceeds from Turkey Trot 4K help fund the development of youth athletes for Junior Olympics\, Nike Northwest XC in Boise\, CHAMPS Western Regional XC (MT. SAC California)\, as well as Simplot Games (ISU’s Holt Arena in Pocatello) indoor winter track events. The youth members of CTC also participate in numerous other local running events as they become available. \nCanyon Track Club–Our Purpose\nThe purpose of Canyon Track Club is to serve the people of Canyon County and the surrounding areas of the Treasure Valley\, promoting physical fitness among people of all ages through running and walking exercise. Our goal is to promote a positive environment where students of all ages can compete in Track and Field\, growing not only in their physical abilities but growing confidence. Coaches for Canyon Track Club try to make a strong\, lasting impact for each athlete. We encourage our athletes to give their best each and every day not only to get better for themselves but to positively influence other athletes.\nCanyon Track Club members and participants have included athletes from Caldwell\, Vallivue\, Skyview\, Homedale\, Ontario\, Greenleaf\, Middleton\, Emmett\, Parma\, Kuna\, and Ridgevue schools\, as well as numerous private schools\, charter schools\, and home school associations. Many former club members have gone on to compete at the collegiate level this decade–some winning All-Conference Events\, competing in Finals at National Events\, and some winning All-American Academic Awards as well. \nCanyon Track Club–Our Story\nCanyon Track Club was founded in 2005 by Brian Faulks and Jim Trapp. It started out with just a hand-full of runners\, but in a few short years grew into over 50 athletes. We have had athletes achieve many different accolades through running at Canyon Track Club such as All-State and All-American Honors as well as significant Academic Achievement Honors in the classroom.\nThere are no paid coaches for Canyon Track Club\, Inc. Coaches for the Club have a combined 100+ seasons of coaching experience in all aspects of Track and Field. Coaches offer their time and effort\, working with athletes to develop and improve their fitness and overall technique. Coaches share expertise in distance\, sprints\, hurdles\, relays\, jumps\, and throwing. We strive to promote excellence by challenging our athletes to become the best that they can be\, yet at the same time\, we encourage them to develop running as a lifestyle habit so that they may enjoy the many health benefits of running for years to come.
