SUMMARY:13TH ANNUAL IMTUF 100 and 20 mile Races
DESCRIPTION:IMTUF100 \nSTART: Saturday September 21\, 2024 at 6:00 AM MST. \nCUTOFF:  36 hours.  Must finish by 6:00 PM MST on Sunday September 22 for an official finish.  If we must stagger the start and you start after 6 AM\, this will be considered in your finish time. \nLOCATION:  Start and Finish at Jug Mountain Ranch (JMR)\, just south of McCall\, ID.  We will set up in the meadow north of the JMR clubhouse as we did in 2020-2023. \nCOURSE:  100 mile loop course in the Salmon River Mountains near McCall\, ID.  Expect some very steep climbs and descents with TUF footing\, beautiful summits and ridges\, deep canyons with pristine rivers and lots of wildlife.  The peak elk rut is usually on during this weekend\, so bugling bulls are frequently heard and seen.  Other wildlife include bear\, wolves\, lions\, moose\, deer\, eagles\, goshawks and more.  Click the course tab for more details\, maps\, etc. \nDIFFICULTY:   Very difficult.  IMTUF is a Hardrock100 Qualifier for a good reason.  It is a little over 100 miles.  There is lots of steep climbing totaling over 20\,000′ feet of ascent.  The footing is rough overall and downright brutal at times.  Finishers have often compared it to Wasatch 100 in difficulty\, but more technical. \nSTATS:  100+ mi\, 22\,000 gain. \nJust expect a long and hard journey and you will enjoy the adventure. \nPacket Pickup:  Friday\, September 20\, 2024 at Jug Mountain Ranch camping area from 3pm to 6pm.  We may skip the in-person briefing and do it by video and emails. \nDrop Bags:  Drop them at the start\, just before the race.  Read the race manual for details on the bags.  Make ’em small and 100% weatherproof! \n\nPre-Race Briefing: We will do it by video and emails.  Any questions you may have we can discuss on Friday at JMR. \nJUGHANDLE 20 MILER.  This race starts on Sunday\, September 22th\, 2024 at 9AM. Click the tab above for the 20 mile course and info.

SUMMARY:Aaron Butler Memorial Purple Heart Run: Idaho
DESCRIPTION:Registration: https://runsignup.com/Race/ID/Eagle/PurpleHeartRun \nThe 6th annual Aaron Butler Memorial Purple Heart Run (ABMPHR) will be held on Saturday\, August 17th\, 2024 at the Eagle Bike Park and surrounding trail system. We are getting back to where it all started in 2019\, including our original location in the heart of the Treasure Valley! \nSign up\, show up\, and embrace the suck in the 5K\, 10K\, or signature Unknown Distance Run (we guarantee no less than 400M and no more than 50K\, you won’t know the final distance until your finish.) We take great pride in delivering an awesome trail running experience\, but this isn’t a Boston Qualifier\, there is no chip-timing\, and no one cares if you walk the course. This event is about community and sacrifice\, the routes are lined with pictures and stories of our brothers and sisters who gave their lives in the service of our Nation. Aaron’s name is on the event\, but our event honors ALL of the Fallen. Don’t forget about our 16-and-under Youth 5K\, we care deeply about youth leadership development and believe that it begins with exposure to service and sacrifice. \nIt’s more than a run\, it’s an emotional and educational experience. \nNo posers\, no egos. If you’re down to clown with authentic veterans\, first-responders\, and patriots who celebrate the lives and legacies of those who gave all\, this event is for you. Registration gets you access to the run\, music\, food\, guest speakers\, beer\, non-alcoholic beverages (thanks a lot Dan)\, sweet raffle and auction items\, and lots to do for kids. We sweat\, we laugh\, we cry (just to water our beards)\, and we support each other. Join us.

The drop-off lane at Eastover Terraces closes at 9:30 am. There is no registration or packet pick-up on race day.  You can get back down to the Capitol and Cecil D Andrus Park via Crescent Rim/Latah/Americana or Crescent Rim/Peasley/Rose Hill/Visit/Capitol Blvd. (please note – this route will be CLOSED after 9:40 am\, as the police will close northbound traffic at University Drive). \nRace Drop at the Boise Depot: Drop off is just that\, drop off. Drivers need to stay in their vehicles and allow the Race Volunteers to escort their racers from the car to the proper starting area. Please do not get out of your vehicle. \nTip: Take your pre-race pictures at home! \nRace Bib: Bib numbers need to be pinned to the front of the body on the outermost layer of clothing. Do not exchange bib numbers among siblings or friends\, each child’s name\, emergency contact\, and color of flag where the child is meeting their family will be on the back of the bib to help with confusion. \nThis race is a chip-timed event\, on the back of the bib is a timing chip. Please do not bind or remove the timing chip.  \nShortened/Adaptive Race Course:  \nThe Capitol Classic encourages kids with all abilities to participate. There is an adaptive course for kids with physical or mental disabilities that starts at 9:30 prior to the main race. This race will start at the corner of Capitol and Idaho. Remember to push the meter for your free 20 minutes\, meters are running on weekends in the downtown area. \nCheck out this link for the Park Mobile App\, maps of meter spots\, and parking garages in the area. City of Boise Parking Info>> \n\n\n\n\n\nFinish Line\n\nThe Finish Line Celebration will be in Cecil D Andrus Park. All children will receive a medal in the finish line area and be ushered into the park to reconnect with their families. There will be water and a healthy snack for all finishers. Then you can visit booths to learn about our Race Sponsors and fun summer activities. \nHow do I find my child? What happens at the end of the Race?\nGiant colored flags in red\, blue\, green\, and pink will be at the Finish Celebration for all to see. We recommend that you choose a color with your child and designate that color of the flag for your meeting place. \nWe ask that parents and guardians stay off the race course and do not enter the finish line area. Please remember the finish line is exciting\, be patient while you wait for your child to make it to your designated meeting spot. \nTip: We will have markers at packet pick up so you can mark the color on the back of your child’s bib with that color (a little reminder for them\, in case they forget).
